Nathan began his career as a trainee Dental Nurse at the University Dental Hospital of Wales, and successfully acquired his NVQ III in Oral Healthcare and Dental Nursing in 2005. At the same time. he gained a Foundation Certificate in Oral Health Promotion from the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health. Nathan then left for newer pastures as a Lead Dental Nurse in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Here he assists in an extensive range of surgical procedures using local anaesthetic, sedation or general anaesthesia. He has further progressed his career with post registration qualifications: the Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing, Certificate in Dental Radiography and additional skills in Manual Handling Trainer, Intra / Extra Oral Suture Removal, Peripheral Cannulation, Dental Impressions, Dental implants (Nobel Biocare) and he has also achieved his Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing and Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (2019).
Nathan is our tutor on the Certificate in Dental Sedation and Certificate in Dental General Anaesthetics programmes.
